LE wheel Colour
Quote from doogle on 22nd March 2013, 11:58 pmHi guys,
Does anyone know what the original metallic grey colour is for LE wheels? Refurbishing mine and looking for a good match rather than just painting them black. Has anyone found a close colour?
Also need a cap spring if anyone has one?
Thanks,
Doug.

What we really need is someone with an unused spare who can get the grey section clour matched-as we did with the Jubilee paint 😉

Quote from doogle on 23rd March 2013, 8:39 pmI'm going to take a wheel to local paint shop on Monday and try to match it. My wheels are a very dark grey and slightly metallic. Will probably try and find a close colour from the chips as I'm not sure they'll get it on the matching machine as that usually just generates a match whereas I'm guessing what we need is a fairly off the shelf manufacturers colour that will provide a good substitute to the original paint used and easy to get made using a code.

Quote from doogle on 25th March 2013, 4:56 pmAfter an hour spent in the paint shop this afternoon picking out colour chips it came down to a short list of about 6 colours and eventually after eliminating some it came down to a choice of just two and after much deliberation we have a match! They were close but one was very slightly lighter and a green tint, the chosen one has a brown tint but is definatly a solid grey colour as per the wheels. Most grey colours seem to have a blue tint to them and just don't match.
Iv tried a test on the wheel and it looks perfect. Will post a picture later.
