Your car will be on the stand from Thursday - Sunday until closing time. Sorry we cant give you any money for this as the club is non funded but you you will receive 2 free passes every day. Thank you for your patience during these challenging times. I am happy to confirm we are able to offer a stand to The MGB Jubilee & L.E. Owners Club at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery 2020.

The government has given the go-ahead for the event industry to re-start from 1st October and we are confident that the show can happen safely; for details of measures we are putting in place visit: www.necclassicmotorshow.com/covid-measures

I trust that the following stand will be acceptable.  Attached is the floorplan showing your stand’s location within the show.  You will see that we have added additional gangways, widened others and introduced a one-way system.

I am sure you can appreciate given the current situation; it is not just the show layout that is undergoing change.  Please read the attached ‘Notes for Clubs on CMS2020’, this details measures which we feel are pertinent to highlight to clubs at this stage.  Arrangements are still being finalised and may change over the coming months; we will keep you informed.

• To enable social distancing, as a guide we suggest that no more than 5 cars of average size should be displayed on the stand offered.

• We will provide access for up to 9 people to work on your club stand each open day.  Club volunteer/staff access is not related to the number of vehicles on display this year.

We sincerely hope that you can work with us to create an enjoyable and worthwhile event, whilst taking every possible precaution to ensure a safe and secure environment for attendees.

Due to Covid-19 not a lot has gone on in the Classic Car World this year. This has given every one plenty of time to get the polish out & given their pride and joy a good clean. 40 odd years ago MG at Abingdon closed its doors for the final time. They produced a final production run of 1000 Limited Edition MGB's consisting of 580 GT5's and 420 Roadsters. Despite difficulties in 2020 we have secured a Club Stand at this years Classic Car show at The NEC Birmingham after the Government gave permission last week. JULE would like to show case the LE's and we need a LE Roadster & GT on the stand plus a Jubilee. Cars will need to be at the show from 12-15 Nov. A message from Lee Masters, Show Director, Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery

It is with great sadness that I announce to you today that we have decided there is no alternative but to postpone the 2020 edition of the show, despite pulling out all the stops to try and make the annual season finale happen.

 

Having been given the greenlight by government for organised events to resume from 1 October, we were so excited at the prospect of bringing the community back together, with all our COVID-secure measures in place to create a safe and controlled environment for all concerned. 

Although the latest government update hasn’t changed this possibility, it is currently under review and has created uncertainty for both our exhibitors and visitors. Add to this the prospect of local lockdowns still being in place and the communities’ understandable concern about what an indoor event experience will be, even with all the precautions we’re putting in place, we have taken this difficult decision.

As a team, we are extremely disappointed having done everything within our power to try and make the show happen. We want to thank all our partners, clubs, exhibitors, visitors and suppliers who have supported our endeavours to bring the show to you this year.

While we won’t be coming together as a motoring community this year within the halls of the NEC, to celebrate the classics we love, we will continue to share stories, memories and news across our digital platforms.

Silverstone Auctions will also continue as scheduled with what is due to be their biggest and best sale yet.

 

We also will be honouring our commitment to help the Sporting Bears Motor Club raise funds for their chosen charities and hope the community will continue to support them as you have done so generously in past years.

We understand that this will be a disappointment to many people who eagerly await the Classic Motor Show each year and we look forward to when we can get together again.

Really Sad news after all the work Bob has put in to get the club a stand.

But the cancellation is the right thing considering the escalation of the Covid infection.

Lets all look forward to a packed year of events in 2021
