Found & paid one from fleabay UK but got money refund because the seller indicated that the wheel was stolen from his shed ...... maybe he was not happy with the final amount from the bidding.

Quote from john wilkes on 16th February 2015, 2:33 pmI've found that on ebay as well.I think on two occations,I've won something really cheaply because no one else has bid,but the seller has renaged. One was a set of alloy wheels the other some BMW Pdc sensors. If they don't want the items to go,they should either have a reserve or a starting price they would be willing to accept.
Mind you I did bag a comlete E Type door for £25 a few years ago.:D:D

Well I do kind of collect rare Moto Lita steering wheels, not the one almost everybody has the 14" laminated flat wooden one.
Some are even surprised to see a leather Moto Lita steering wheel in my car, they don't know that those are made etc.
I do have currently about 20 pieces I think, also old ones with curly engravings in the spokes, mostly referred to as "gun engraving".
Well about three years ago on a local trading website here in Holland a Moto Lita steering wheel was offered for sale, it looked a bit weird to me but it was almost spotless.
Weird because the boss size was rather small, the wheel size was 16" and Moto Lita was mentioned on the back, not on the front and the rivets were sticking out on the back.
The guy lived in Rotterdam and actually worked 2 miles from my house, so picking it up was easy. The story came that his father worked at a Jaguar and other english car dealer in the seventies and he could take the used steeing wheel home, I remembered the name of the shop very well, always a bunch of Jaguars on display in the showroom.
The next week was a the famous MG car parts swap in Holland hold once a year, I had no time to investigate what it was on put it on he table for sale.
A lot looked at it and yeah it wasn't the 14" flat laminated one, so they didn't know.
A few weeks later I did my googling stuff on the web, because I know Moto Lita made steering wheels for cars ex factory like Austin Healey and Aston Martin, but the Moto Lita website did not give any pictures of those steering wheels.
Well after some time I found it ...... it was a original steering wheel for Aston Martin DB3.
Made same pictures and correct discription and it was gone rather quick so to say 😀So as you said John sometimes you can be lucky on fleabay ....., both my US LE's and a 1978 MGB I bough from fleabay US.

Quote from Tony on 17th February 2015, 7:35 pmMy Jubilee's steering wheel was shedding its rim when I bought it, when i took the leccy tape off of the split i found it is actually made of moulded rubber, thats BL for you,so I've decided to have a go at turning it into a wood rim. So far I have got two rings of hard wood that encloses the rim all I have to do now is machine the shape and finish sand it, then glue the two halves to the rim and varnish, sounds easy.
