Just like to know if anyone might be interested in this?
Bring your MG along, Rusty / Tatty MG and work on it while others watch you work.
I think the policy would be bring your LE / Jubilee + tools up on Thursday and leave it in the halls until the end of the show on Sunday. When we have attended the Classic Car Show before, we as a club have stayed at a near by hotel (at our own expense) You will get free admission for the whole weekend. If enough interest is show I will book a stand & find out more info & I will be staying at the Premier Inn Birmingham NEC/Airport.
BobWe would like to invite the Jubilee & Limited Edition MGB's to apply for club stand at the 2018 Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, held from Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th March 2018 at the NEC, Birmingham. Held in Halls 3a, 4 & 5 next year, the 2018 show continues to expand to accommodate the growing interest from the club community.
Officially the UK’s fastest growing classic car event, over 21,000 enthusiasts visited PCCC&RS in Spring 2017. PCCC&RS brings together all aspects of classic motoring: from recently discovered barn finds and project cars that have stalled in an owner’s garage, to recently completed restorations and pristine marques with gleaming brightwork and proud as punch owners. Plus, on the Saturday night of the show over 300 guests gather for the prestigious National Car Club Awards in association with Tourism Ireland.
132 clubs participated in 2017 (see http://www.necrestorationshow.com/exhibitor-list/car-clubs) and already nearly 90% of them have rebooked for 2018! Some of the comments I received from clubs after the last show included:
“A great show going from strength to strength”
“We're looking forward already to the show next year”
“…thank you for letting our club have a stand, we had a fantastic time and can't wait to do it all again”
“Clarion Events should be congratulated for putting on a very good show!! As our first time as an exhibitor, it was a very successful weekend and we very much hope to be back”
“… we had a very successful weekend and would like to thank you and your team for a job well done.”
“…it has been fun, enjoyable, and proud that the we have again supported this show and plan to do so again in 2018.”An ideal club stand would include a vehicle in need of restoration, one being worked on at the show and one in excellent restored condition so that visitors can behold and interact with the whole restoration process. We encourage all clubs to present some kind of demonstration of either a restoration skill or a regular maintenance/servicing activity on their stand at the show.
Live work is strongly encouraged but it is not necessarily a requirement. If your club would like to attend but is unable to undertake live work, we ask that the car/s you display have a restoration ‘story’ and that you bring your club’s restoration ‘experts’ and present a restoration themed display on your stand.

Hi Bob ... Sounds good... what size space is being offered/ how many cars?

Quote from Bob Hubbard on 15th October 2017, 7:38 amHi Colin
It must be a 2-3 car stand. 1 car to work on & enough space to do so + space to put a good looking one on. I can give them a call on monday to find out more. But I would like to see some interest before I commit the club to this show. I did scout it out on the fist year & it was a good show.We have the cars, we have the displays & we have the history & photos of the cars, so why not!

I gave Practical Classics a call yesterday to see how long they would hold this offer open for us to have a stand. They replied that all spaces have now been taken,
As a result & no interest shown the club will not be attending this show.Regards
