Having got the engine it was far from that as you will see from the picture. However after stripping down I freed things up by removing a piston and all was good underneath the muck. I also complained to the trader who gave me half my money back so I managed to get the engine along with original engine mounting plates, starter, dizzy, water pump alternator & water pump pulleys for a mere £100.She looks a lot better than that now (Jan 2010) and is just about to be re-assembled Factory GTV8 Engine Number Location Honing More Honing Upgraded Cylinder Heads Upgraded Oil Rad Electric Cooling Fans & Relocation of the Radiator Old 1800 Engine Bay Layout V8 Engine Bay LayoutElectric Cooling Fans & Relocation of the Radiator, Coil and remote Oil Filter Housing to name but a few of the changes Suspension & Brake Upgrade Out with The Old 1800 Axle V8 Axle Uprated Rear Suspension and V8 Axle Fitted V8 Instumetation Ready for Trial Fitting A Helping Hand from my Mrs 😉 Here we Go Successful Trial Fit First Start up First Start up First Start up Uprated Alternator Fitted (Courtessy of Just MGB.com) to aid cooling in heavy traffic Looks Pretty Close apart - Approx 170 BHP This is what I should end up having - Factory Advertising Image 137 BHP My incentiveThis must have been quite an advert back in 1973 Order by Default Title Date Filename Size Random MGB Register Spring Run 10th April 2011 A splendid time was had by nearly 100 entrants who drove the glorious 75 mile route in glorious weather between Abingdon and Dyrham Hall near Bristol Order by Default Title Date Filename Size Random Spotted Out and About Club Regalia Club Shop Jubilee Dash Plaque Original vs eBay Reproduction
